I was also able to replicate the issue in Outlook 2013 on Windows 8.1 and Windows 10, both pointing to AD DNS and external (Google) DNS. All the clients pointed to AD DNS servers and were fully patched up to February 2015. Outlook had not previously been used on the computers so there was no old profile to clean up.

In this environment, all the clients were running Windows 7 (domain-joined) with a normal install of Office 2013 (with very few customizations). As long as users were sharing their calendar with another person who was also accepting the share in OWA, there were no problems. Once again, our fallback option of using Outlook Web Access (webmail) worked without issue. In my customer’s case, the result was that users were prompted for their credentials even if they had previously saved them. Hoping that would solve the issue, I tried manually mapping the shared mailbox. In previous versions of on-premises Exchange, it was necessary to manually map the shared mailbox in Outlook. It’s actually really cool to watch… If you set one up, it usually shows up in the end user’s Outlook before you can call them back to let them know it is set up. Normally, shared mailboxes in Office 365 Exchange Online should automatically show up in Outlook 2013.
These are really nice if you need generic or addresses that are staffed by more than one person or that may need to be transferred to another person at some point in the future. Shared mailboxes allow several users to access a secondary mailbox for sending/receiving mail from a different address without the need to have a second username and password to manage. Missing shared mailboxes in Outlook 2013 was the first issue reported to us after the migration.
